WAYS OF THE TALKING STICK

Kak Shikchima Klathawah
"My Heart And Mind Are Open To You"

A talking stick is a simple tool that mysteriously creates a space in time where truth occurs. Since 1990 we've used one to assist thousands of women, men and children to speak their truth in countless Moonfire circles, ceremonies, celebrations and events that we've facilitated throughout the country.

And so, in 1996 I named our newsletter "Ways of The Talking Stick" because it accurately conveyed my intention for our paper to communicate heart to heart, in much the same way the name Moonfire Meeting House illustrated my vision for creating community.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with what a talking stick might look like, the very talented Maggie Gentle Bear Goodale beautifully portrayed one for our masthead.
